Rueben - A live teaching on smudging and sacred ceremony

Chief Rueben George

Sundance Chief, author, cultural leader, family therapist, and grandson of Chief Dan George.

A Live Circle on Ceremony, Connection, and Returning to Ourselves

Join us for an intimate, live teaching with Sundance Chief Rueben George — ceremonial leader, family therapist, and internationally respected voice for Indigenous rights, land protection, and human dignity.

In this special circle, Rueben will share the meaning and purpose of smudging, a practice that has supported Indigenous peoples for generations in grounding, cleansing, and restoring balance.

Many of us did not grow up with spiritual teachers to guide us. Many of us use medicines without fully understanding their teachings, their origins, or the responsibilities that come with them. This gathering offers a safe, respectful space to learn, listen, and ask the questions we have long carried.

What you'll experience

• The cultural and spiritual meaning of smudge and sacred medicines
• Teachings from Chief Rueben George’s lineage and ceremonial experience
• Understanding the “spiritual ecosystem” and how ceremony restores harmony
• Insight into cleansing, grounding, prayer, and connection to spirit
• Guidance on approaching ceremony with respect and cultural humility
• A shared moment of intention, presence, and gratitude
