Dr. Lee Brown in conversation about Truth, Family, Culture, Health

Chief Rueben George

Some knowledge can only be carried by those who have lived it, studied it, and devoted a lifetime to passing it on.

Dr. Lee Brown is one of those rare voices.

A member of the Cherokee Nation and the Wolf Clan, Dr. Brown has spent decades at the intersection of Indigenous wisdom and academic excellence — as Director of the UBC Institute of Aboriginal Health, as architect of UBC's Indigenous Doctoral Program, and as co-author of The Sacred Tree, a foundational curriculum rooted in Aboriginal values and ways of knowing. For nearly thirty years, he has walked alongside healers and communities at the Round Lake Native Healing Centre in Vernon, BC — not as an outside expert, but as a cultural resource and guide.

Tonight, he sits down with Sundance Chief Rueben George for a conversation that goes to the heart of what it means to be well — as individuals, as families, as nations.

At Thrive, we don't simply acknowledge Indigenous wisdom  we have structured ourselves around it. Not because we have all the answers, but because we believe the conversations that matter most are the ones we have together. In these uncertain times, that's exactly what we're committed to: showing up, listening deeply, and walking forward — together.

This is not a lecture. This is a conversation between two men who have devoted their lives to the wellbeing of their people  and they're inviting you in.

Join us April 1 at 6:30pm PST. All are welcome.
